Newcomers Welcome

It's not easy visiting a new church for the first time.  Coming to UACC many questions may go through your mind, "Do I need to be Armenian, or speak the Armenian language to worship here? What is the Children’s Program like?  Do I have to give?  How should I dress?  What kind of music do they use in worship?  Am I welcome if I don't know what I believe?"

We want your visit to UACC to be an enjoyable experience, so let us take some of those questions and provide some helpful answers.

Arrival

When you first arrive at UACC you will be met by a greeter in the entry way. Please feel free to ask any questions at that time.  The greeters will be able to direct you to the services and programs that will be most helpful to you and your family.

Language Issues

We are an Armenian Evangelical Church, however you do not need to be Armenian or speak the Armenian language to attend. At the 9:00am service, there is very little that would not be readily understandable to those who are not Armenian. The 11:15 service is bilingual, but the ushers will be happy to provide you with simultaneous translation units upon request.

Worship Services

If you are planning to attend UACC for the first time you are  welcome to try either of our two worship services. The information below may help you understand the best way for you and your family to get involved.

The 9:00am Worship Service is conducted completely in the English language and embraces a contemporary style of worship music involving guitars, drums and other musical instruments.

The 11:15 Worship Service includes two sermons each week, one in Armenian and one in English. The music is generally traditional hymns accompanied by the organ and most weeks there is a musical offering of praise by the Chancel Choir.

Dress

People feel free at UACC to dress comfortably, which could mean different things to different folks. Some prefer to dress up a bit, but many prefer to dress casually. We don't judge people based on how they dress. We're just glad you came!

Giving

An offering is received at both services as a part of our worship, but please remember that you are our guests. You need not give anything, however we would like you to fill out the tear off contact card on your program and place it in the offering plate.

Children’s Ministry

Sunday School and Nursery care are available during both services. For the 9:00am service there are classes for children from cradle to 5th Grade. Jr. High and High School students are welcome to worship with their parents in the sanctuary. At 11:15, the Sunday School program goes all the way up to High School age, but on the first Sunday of each month the Jr. High and High School students go into Church for worship.

After the Service

After each of the services our pastors will always wait to greet newcomers or anyone else who wishes to see them. Please take a moment to introduce yourselves and share any concerns or prayer requests if you wish.

But don’t just run off after the service. Coffee and refreshments are served in the courtyard between the sanctuary and the social hall so please drop by so we can get to know you.

We're so glad you are thinking about coming to visit us and we look forward to seeing you this weekend!
