Biblical Principles for Stewardship

Here at UACC our commitment to Christian Stewardship in our financial lives is based on a few important principles from the Scriptures:

1. "The Earth is the Lord’s and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it." (Psalm 24:1) Everything and everyone in this world belongs to God. We are but stewards of all that He has given us.

2. "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse..." (Malachi 3:10) God has given us all these blessings for our use and enjoyment. He expects that we return at least a tenth, or a "tithe" for the support of His ministries and to help the needy.

3. "Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9:7) Our Christian giving should be a product of our thankfulness to God. We are not to give out of compulsion, or duty, but with a cheerful heart, grateful for all God’s blessings.

We expect our members to take these spiritual principles seriously. Each of us must prayerfully consider how we will exercise good stewardship of our time and talent, as well as our financial resources.

The Scriptures clearly promise that God will bless us when we are faithful in sharing systematically and sacrificially for His work and ministry.
