(Jr. High, Sr. High, and College)
Youth Ministries
UACC has an active and vibrant ministry for Youth Jr. High through college age. Challenging Bible studies, age-relevant discussions, and a variety of social activities are just the beginning of our program. Each student has numerous opportunities per week for fellowship, community, and edification. For more information, please contact the Church office.
Sunday School Curriculum
For Jr. High and High School, Sunday School classes are held during the main worship service throughout the year. The Jr. High class goes by the "Faith Weaver" curriculum developed by Group Publishing. The High School has in-depth Bible studies combined with current events related to Christian issues, tough questions, and challenges to the faith.
Camping Programs
UACC youth are active in camping programs at both Forest Home and Camp AREV. The youth are encouraged to attend Winter and Summer camps where they enjoy wonderful recreational opportunities while being challenged by dynamic Christian speakers and programs. Scholarships are often made available by the UACC Board of Christian Education.
Missions and Service
The UACC Youth of all ages participate regularly in service projects in Southern California. From feeding the homeless to wrapping gifts for needy children, the Youth Group is always looking for more opportunities to serve. Also, each year, the Youth plans a short-term mission trip to Mexico for the advancement of God’s glory and kingdom through service and evangelism.
Armenian Evangelical Youth Fellowship (AEYF)
The young people at UACC are actively involved in the AEYF which unites the youth groups of all Armenian Evangelical Churches in the U.S. and Canada. The youth from the California Churches get together regularly for retreats, conferences and recreational activities. Every other year there is an AEYF convention including all our youth in North America. These joint events help to build up the spiritual life of our young people, while also developing a sense of their Armenian Evangelical identity.
Jr. High
Faith FactorEvery Friday night, students meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Fireside room for games and icebreakers. At 8:00 p.m., they join the High School students for a powerful time of worship and sharing, followed by faith building studies from God’s Word. After Bible study, students enjoy a time of fellowship and refreshments (provided by our Parents Committee) and organized games. Faith Factor is designed to empower our younger students to stand firm in their faith by teaching the basics and grounding their knowledge in God’s Word. Although life brings many challenges along the way, we know that students prepared well will be able to endure.
Other organized activities, including trips to theme parks, hiking, picnics, and retreats are scheduled monthly. Please inquire about Youth Calendars.
High School Against the Grain
It’s tough being a high school student living in this world. Everything around them is drawing them to a life that is self-centered, hungry for its own well being at the expense of others, and worldly. Its hard enough being a high school student, but being a Christian high school student is nearly impossible.
Because we know of those challenges to our students, we at UACC have created a ministry called, Against the Grain (ATG). ATG is our Friday night gathering for High School students, established to strengthen and prepare our students to be able to live in this world without becoming a part of it. We have powerful, passionate worship, led by our very own worship band, followed by relevant Bible studies, showing our students how it is that God’s Word is eternal truth that encourages, supports, comforts, and challenges students leading them to life eternal.
Against the Grain meets every Friday night, from 7:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. Join us for Bible studies, worship, skits, games and much more.
Other organized activities, including trips to theme parks, hiking, picnics, and retreats are scheduled monthly. Please inquire about Youth Calendars.
Youth Hang Out Hour
Every Sunday afternoon, from 4:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. our students are welcome to "hang out" at UACC. The gym is open for Basketball and Volleyball, and our new Youth Room is open with all sorts of fun games, including two XBOX 360s, a pool table, foosball, mini-basketball and more! We also have a Youth Library section in the Youth Room with youth magazines, Christian CDs and music videos, and books on various topics important for Christian living. The Youth leaders will be available this hour simply to hang out, to discuss important issues, and to get to know the students. At 6:00 p.m., all students, youth leaders, and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend, Sunday Night Praise, UACC’s contemporary worship service.
Youth Choir
UACC has a youth choir for all students in Jr. High and Sr. High interested in participating in a number of choral events. The choir sings during the worship service once a month and for special occasions, including service to convalescent homes. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and allows students to use their gifts for God’s glory. Rehearsals are Sundays at 12:30 p.m.
College Ministries
Every Wednesday night, at 7:30 p.m., our college and younger career age members gather for prayer. At 8:00 p.m., we enter into the Fireside Room for worship singing, followed by Bible study. This is an opportunity to dig deeply into God’s Word, have enlightening discussions, and edifying fellowship. After Bible study, students are known either to hang out and play basketball or volleyball, or go out for an extended time of fellowship.
The Third Wednesday Dinner takes place each month (on the third Wednesday of course!). The group chooses a price range and a local restaurant and we gather at 6:00 p.m. for dinner, before heading back to church for Bible Study.
The last Thursday of every month is a college hang-out and coffee night. From 7:00 p.m. until we get kicked out, we hang out in the Youth Room, go to the local coffee shop, or play various sports in the Gym.
For College Women, the last Wednesday of the month has the option of an in depth study for women only. There is also available the Ladies of Faith, accountability group that meets every other Friday evening.
Men’s discipleship groups are also available for those looking for accountability and community.
The College Group has various activities monthly, including hang out nights, retreats, and conferences. Also, college students are encouraged to attend Sunday Night Praise, UACC’s contemporary worship service, Sunday evenings at 6: 00 p.m.
